The Field of Firsts Foundation, an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is the College Park Aviation Museum’s nonprofit partner for generating support for the Museum through the support of individuals - like you – as well as corporations, local businesses, and grants to fund exhibits, interactives, collections acquisitions, conservation and care, and educational programming beyond what the museum’s basic operational budget provides. The museum is owned and operated by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), a bi-county agency, and approximately 80% of the museum’s budget is funded thanks to public tax dollars through M-NCPPC. The remainder is generated through admissions, programming, events, rentals, the Museum Store and our supporters.
