Camping and Picnics

New for 2018!

Campsites A-D will change in location, amount of campers per site, and rental fee; they will be open by April 1. Rental options for our picnic pavilion have been modified. A PARKS DIRECT account is required for all campsite and pavilion reservations.

roasting marshmellowsThe Jug Bay Natural Area offers primitive tent camping for groups; no RVs or tent trailers. There are four sites in the small group (15 people or fewer) camp area and two sites near the river (Canoe Campsite & Selby's), all of which are open year round. Each campsite offers picnic tables, a fire ring, and some firewood. The small group camp area features solar-powered indoor composting accessible restroom facilities onsite. Running water is not available at the campsites but potable water is available in front of the Visitors' Center restrooms.

Groups of 25 or fewer can enjoy our Water Trail Campsites. They feature two portable toilets on site but no drinking water (available at the pavilion/barn area well house). Guests can launch canoes and kayaks (your own or rented from the park) from a floating pier.

Camping is by reservation only and payment is due at that time. At the time of reservation, staff provides guests a combination to gain entrance through our secured gates.

Please call the Park office, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm to reserve Campsites A-D, Selby's, and Canoe Camp. Water Trail Campsite (Iron Pot Landing, White Oak Landing, Spice Creek, or Milltown Landing) reservations can be made by calling the park office.
