Camping and Picnics

Camping

roasting marshmellowsThe Jug Bay Natural Area offers primitive tent camping for groups; no RV's or tent trailers. There are four sites in the group camp area and two sites near the river (Canoe Campsite & Selby's); all of which are open year round. The group camp area features indoor, accessible restroom facilities nearby as well as a pavilion that can be shared by all campers. The onsite barn provides shelter in case of inclement weather.

Each camping site offers three picnic tables, a fire ring, and some firewood. The onsite well house provides drinking water as well as a locked storage room containing softball equipment, volleyball, and horseshoes. A volleyball net, basketball hoop, and horseshoe pits are in place for your convenience and enjoyment.

Groups of 25 or fewer can enjoy our river campsites. They feature two portable toilets on site but no drinking water (available at the group camp area well house). Guests can launch canoes and kayaks (your own or rented from the park) from a floating pier.

Camping is by reservation only and payment is due at that time. At the time of reservation, staff provide guests a combination to gain entrance through our secured gates.

To make reservations, call the park office, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
