Annually, the Prince George’s County Planning Department organizes a riveting cultural celebration of Black History Month, featuring a spoken word performance and lecture from an expert. Incorporating the national theme established by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALAH ) - "The Black Family: Representation, Identity, & Diversity," - this year's celebration will feature Lawana Holland-Moore Associate Program Officer of the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund for the National Trust of Historic Preservation and Nala Washington, Prince George’s County Youth Poet Ambassador.
