Boat Rentals
Explore the natural scenery of the Anacostia River from a canoe, kayak (single or tandem), paddleboat, or rowboat. This is a wonderful way to see the birds and surrounding wetlands. The calm river conditions make this a wonderful and fun adventure for persons of any skill level. Life vests are provided and required for all boat occupants. All rentals are weather permitting. Boat rentals (canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, and rowboats) are available April through October.
Rental Times
- Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with equipment return by 4 p.m.
- Saturdays to Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with equipment return by 5 p.m.
- Renters must be 16 years or older.
- Persons 17 and under must have an adult (18 or older) in the boat with them at all times.
- Must have a driver's license or government-issued identification (with birth date verification)
- All rentals are on a first come, first served basis.
- Groups must call ahead to inquire about rental availability.
- Additional fees will apply to the following: late returns, lost and/or damaged equipment, or rental agreement violations.
- Resident: $20 per day
- Non-Resident: $26 per day
- Group Paddle Guide: $60
- Flat rate for groups of 5 to 10 people
- Must rent and utilize park kayaks and equipment
- Based on staff availability
- Must reserve at least 2 weeks ahead

Bicycle & Tricycle Rentals
Rent a bicycle or tricycle and explore the sites along the Anacostia Tributary Trail System and the new Anacostia River Trail to Washington, D.C. Bicycle rentals are available daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., year-round.
Rental Requirements & Details
- Renters must be 18 years and older.
- Persons 17 and under must have an adult (18 or older) with them at all times.
- Must have an active PARKS DIRECT (can be set up at park office).
- Must have a driver's license or government-issued ID (with birth date verification).
- Groups must call ahead to inquire about rental availability.
- Helmets are issued with every bike rental.
- Bicycles are for local trail use only and may not be transported via vehicle to other locations.
- A 15 minute grace period is allowed, after which late fees will be assessed.
- At all times, it is the renter's responsibility to return all rental property to the park office.
- Additional fees will apply to the following: late returns, lost and/or damaged equipment, or rental agreement violations. An equipment inspection will happen.
- Resident: $10 per hour
- Non-Resident: $13 per hour
Fishing Information & Rod Rentals
Enjoy a day of fishing in the park! It's your choice: fish from the pier or from the water's edge. Fishing rod rentals are available daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., year-round.
Things to Remember
- Bring your fishing rod or rent one from us.
- Check the tide schedule and weather report.
- Bring your own bait.
- Maryland Tidal Water Fishing License is required for ages 16 and older (licenses are not sold in the park).
- Please call ahead for groups or other special requests.
- Check our programs page to find out when our next River Boat.
- Resident: $8 per day
- Non-Resident: $11 per day
Ropewalk Pavilion
The Ropewalk Pavilion is available for daily rentals and has approximately 24 picnic tables with a maximum seated capacity of 150 people.
Things to Remember
- All renters must have a Parks Direct to complete a rental contract
- Large groups or specialized functions (festivals and community events) must have permission, contract, or a reservation to use the pavilion or park
- Alcoholic beverages and smoking are not permitted in the park
- Grilling may be permitted with a contract and manager approval only
- Amplified music is not permitted, without prior manager approval
- Parking next to the pavilion or on the paved promenade area is not permitted
- All M-NCPPC park rules apply. Please call for more information.
Daily rate:
- Resident: $300
- Non-Resident: $400
- Security deposit $100 Additional fees may apply. Security deposit is due at time of reservation. Remaining balance due 60 days prior to rental. If rented under 60 days before your event, the full balance will be due at time of reservation.
All festivals and community events are included in the daily rate.
- Resident: $800
- Non-Resident: $1040
- Security deposit: $200 (additional fees may apply.) Full balance (security deposit and rental balance) is due at time of reservation.
Classroom
The classroom is available to rent by the hour for meetings, birthday parties, and other small functions, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Maximum capacity is 40 people with tables and chairs or 50 people with auditorium-style seating.
Things to Remember
- Tables and chairs are provided for classroom rental
- The renter is responsible for set up and clean up of their event
- Your paid rental times must include setup and breakdown/clean up
- Kitchen facilities are not available
- Maintenance supplies are provided
- Decorations are permitted; adhesives must not damage the surfaces of walls
- Renters are permitted to use chafing dishes with canned gel fuel (sterno) to keep food warm
- Resident: $60 per hour
- Non-Resident: $80 per hour
- Security Deposit: $100 (additional fees may apply.) Security deposit is due at time of reservation. Remaining balance due 60 days prior to rental. If rented under 60 days before your event, the full balance will be due at time of reservation.
